Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD)

The Site Allocations DPD forms part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) for Slough.  It allocates sites that help implement the Core Strategy Vision and Spatial Strategy which are intended to guide how development will be planned across Slough up to 2026.

INSPECTOR'S REPORT - DPD found Sound August 2010

The Inspector’s Report of the Examination in Public was received on 31st August 2010. The report concluded that the Site Allocations DPD is Sound subject to a few changes being made. The Inspector's Report  and supporting Annexes can be viewed below under the 'Inspector's Report' event.

Alongside this process the Inspector approved proposed alterations to the boundaries of established land use designations identified in the Slough Local Plan 2004. The site allocations proposals and these alterations will be shown on the Proposal Map which will be adopted at the same time as the DPD. The changes to the Proposals Map can also be viewed under the 'Inspector's Report' event.

Sustainability Appraisal (SA)

The Site Allocations DPD is accompanied by a Sustainability Appraisal Report which sets out
(i)   how environmental considerations have been integrated into the plan,
(ii)  how the environmental report has been taken into account
(iii) how responses to consultation have been taken into account
(iv) the reasons for choosing the plan as adopted, in the light of other alternatives considered
(v)  measures for monitoring significant environmental effects in the Annual Monitoring Report

The SA was carried out to help inform the preparation of the Site Allocations DPD, and assist the consultation process by providing an assessment of the site proposals against the Sustainability Appraisal framework (set out in the document). This process helps the council and public identify what the social, economic and environmental effects of the proposals may be.

Sustainable development in Slough is defined as that which achieves and maintains an acceptable quality of life for all and which is socially desirable, environmentally sustainable and economically viable now and in the future.
